I have been fascinated by metalwork since a young age and work to incorporate many different mediums in my work. Through knife, tool, and jewelry making I can look at historic artifacts with many different lenses. I enjoy exploring the traditional and combining it with the contemporary producing unique works with a distinctive style. I am very interested exploring textures and balance of colors in my work while exploring different materials.

Robert’s Biography

Robert has been fascinated by metalwork and traditional crafts, particularly in how they connect to history, since childhood. Robert began studying blacksmithing under James Hoffman, learning the American colonial style of blacksmithing. He then went on to learn the craft of bladesmithing, joining the American Bladesmith’s Society (ABS) where he hopes to achieve the rank of master smith. Robert works part time out of his shop creating knives, woodworking tools, and historic reproductions.
