Gwendolyn Korvick
Specialty: Clay
I create complex organic ceramic pieces which are hand formed by the pinch method and left unglazed, relying on the blacks and grays of reduction firing for decoration. Earth colors of subtle red & green break the stark value contrast. The minimal decoration imparted by reduction stenciling reinforces the organic form and subtle texture of my pottery. Slumped glass inserts have been used in some of my ware as additional decoration.
