I design and hand paint aluminum art pieces in my studio. My artist partner, Joe Jacob, has a metal and wood shop where he acid-etches the art into the metal and incorporates the acid-etched metal art with interesting woods to create the rare and original Jacob Rogers Art. We have searched for and chosen expressive hardwoods for each individual project. Our hardwoods are skillfully crafted using traditional woodworking techniques and finishes. The hardwoods glow under their hand rubbed oil finishes.
The metal artwork is created using heavy gauge aluminum. The aluminum art is painted with an acid resistant paint and then submerged into a bath of acid where the unpainted background is etched away. The acid resistant paint is removed and the artwork is revealed. The metal art is then finished using saws, file and buffing. The metal art is combined with the wood to create these amazing functional contemporary pieces.
Evy Rogers and Joe Jacob are collaborating artists from separate studios. They share their experience and talent to create art clocks, tables, and functional art accessories that mix beautifully figured woods with paintings etched in metal.
The name “Jacob Rogers Art” comes from combining the last names of two artists: Joe Jacob and Evy Rogers. These 2 award winning artists work together to integrate fine art with function. They offer rare and unique luxury items made from acid etched aluminum and wood. They combine their metal art with special wood that they select from their collection to create functional art. Each of their pieces is exclusive, meaning that it is a one-of-a kind, artist signed creation.
