I like to describe my artwork as “organized chaos”. I use acrylics, collage, found objects, miniatures, shadowboxes, to name a few and basically ‘throw a party’ on the canvas. Each piece begs the viewer to come close and experience it all.
Dorothy Samuels Lampl is a full-time artist living in Pittsburgh. She has been painting furniture in her own whimsically, crazy way for years. Several years ago, she moved into acrylics and mixed media on canvas, creating an eclectic mix of collage, paint, miniatures, and shadowboxes, resulting in multi-dimensional work on each canvas. Each piece begs the viewer to “Come closer…Peek Inside” as new things are seen at every glance. Her work graces the walls and floors throughout many homes and has been shown in many galleries and art shows in the area, as well as many fundraisers throughout the city. She is a member of Pittsburgh Society of Artists, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Craftsmen’s Guild.
