Bill’s Biography

Bill graduated from Norte Dame in 1975 with a degree in architecture. While in school he began taking classes in ceramics and decided that was the path he wanted to pursue. To that end he went to work for Vermont potter, George Scatchard in 1977. Then in 1979 he opened Penn Ave Pottery in the Strip District. For the last 40 years Bill has worked in his studio on Penn Ave and for twenty of those years he taught in the Fox Chapel Area School District. His focus has mainly been on functional stoneware.
