Each of my Jeweled Art pictures is a one-of-a kind creation handcrafted from vintage and repurposed costume jewelry, semi-precious stones, pearls and other heirloom materials. I create traditional images –Christmas trees, stars, crosses and seashells for example. I present them in shadow boxes ready for display. For some, using their loved one’s jewelry, they become heirloom treasures.

Barbara’s Biography

Barbara’s jeweled pictures are an end result of her love of art, color and design. She was especially influenced by her short background in interior design, where an understanding of color, balance, and composition played a major role. After living and traveling in the Far East for a year, it deepened her appreciation for detail, symbolism and of ornamentation. Beginning with designing beaded jewelry and moving on to metal smithing she learned how patience, and precision accomplished what she wanted to portray. Each discipline added to the one before and allowed her to create her newest art form…Jeweled Pictures.
