Thank you for registering for the Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh Spring New Member Screening.
The Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh represents a long-standing tradition of excellence in artistry and craft for over 70 years. Our membership is comprised of artists/craftspeople in the Pittsburgh region. Admission to the Guild is by a rigorous jury process at a New Member Screening held twice a year. The jurors are members of the Craftsmen's Guild and are recognized experts in their chosen medium. Work is evaluated on craftsmanship, artistry, design, originality, and creative use of materials.
All members of the Craftsmen's Guild are entitled to the following benefits:
Automatic acceptance into the Craftsmen's Guild's annual arts festival, A Fair in the Park.
Eligibility to participate in certain exhibitions at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
Periodic opportunities to sell work in "Pop-up Shop" style galleries.
A $15 discount on an Individual or Family Membership at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
A $25 discount on an Artist Membership with the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.
Any artist/crafts person who lives within a 100 mile radius of Pittsburgh, PA (google your address to 6300 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 to see if you are within the 100 mile radius), and who works in any three dimensional craft medium , as well as certain two dimensional mediums (fiber and hand made paper arts) may apply (we do not accept 2D painters as members however they are welcome to apply to the fair). All work must be conceived, designed and created entirely by the applicant. No work made totally or partially from kits or pattern books will be considered.
Current Guild members in good standing now have the opportunity to screen into the Guild in their new new medium at no charge. If accepted your annual dues will cover all screened mediums and all screened mediums will be accepted for A Fair in the Park with one application fee.
Please note that Jewelry is considered its own medium. That is to say that if you exhibit any jewelry at A Fair in the Park, regardless of the material with which it is made, you MUST either be screened into the Guild in jewelry or you MUST submit a second application for A Fair in the Park (and a second application fee) in the jewelry category.
